Lubenow Agency is focused on minimizing this complexity for employers and employees to ensure each organization and individual makes the best decision for their specific needs during initial enrollment, each annual enrollment, and life changes throughout the year.  We also become an extension of your human resource department for other benefits-related questions throughout the year.

We support hundreds of companies across the country, with our main focus in NJ, PA, and DE.  We are licensed in about 20 states and continuing to expand.

Our History

Doug Lubenow has been in the insurance industry since 1989.  He founded Lubenow Agency in 1994 focused on Group Benefits. 

The growth of the agency over the years has been attributed to referrals from satisfied groups and individuals that Lubenow Agency has supported.

2001-2008
Doug was a regular guest on the Mangan, Ernst & Rankin Daily Financial Talk Show for 7 years.  Doug discussed important insurance topics with the hosts and answered calls coming in throughout the show, mostly related to Long-Term Care and Life Insurance.

2001-current
Over the years Doug has witnessed a lot of change in the Healthcare industry and has been very active in Washington working to protect rights of consumers.

Doug has been very actively involved with the Association of Health Underwriters on the chapter and state levels.  He is currently the Legislative Vice-Chair for the state chapter and the Legislative Chair for the South Jersey Chapter.  He has also been the Legislative Chair for the state and a President of the South Jersey Chapter.

Doug has also been very involved with Dooley House, a Camden-based charity.  Doug was a board member and the President of Dooley House Properties, Inc Board of Directors.

Doug Lubenow has ~30 years experience in the Health Insurance Industry providing high-touch, personalized service to employers and employees alike.  

Doug is an expert on all Group Health Insurance products and Medicare. 

In addition, Doug also provides Continuing Education classes on Medicare for other agents to ensure his knowledge & experience is being shared across the industry.

Justin has ~20 years of experience across different industries: Benefits Administration, Telecom, Financial Services and Consumer Products; working for both midsize (LivePerson and Synchronoss Technologies) and large corporations (Hewitt Associates-AON and Johnson & Johnson).

Justin held a variety of roles across Sales, Contact Centers, Operations, and Technology with core strengths in Customer Experience and e-Commerce managing key Fortune 100 accounts such as: Verizon, Citibank, American Express, AT&T, and others. Justin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and a Master’s degree from Stevens Institute.

Justin has been licensed since 2013 and has recently joined full-time, working closely with Doug & team to continue to drive the success and growth of Lubenow Agency.

In 2016, Justin opened an office in Cranford, NJ.
MELISSA FOX, Director of Operations 15+ years Insurance Experience

Melissa has been working for Lubenow Agency since 2001 and is a licensed agent in NJ & PA. Melissa is also active with the Association of Health Underwriters, she has been a member since 2003 and was been a board member from 2005 through 2010. She served as the Communications Chair and Treasurer. 

Melissa has a Bachelors degree in Marketing & Management from Coastal Carolina University.
Michelle Barletta, Customer Service Manager 15 years in Customer Service

Michelle has 15 years of experience in customer service and problem solving. Michelle is currently licensed in NJ. Her primary responsibilities are administering, servicing and customer relations. Her main objective is to coordinate, assist and to facilitate with enrollment, billing and claims issues for the client which entails acting as a liaison between the insurance carrier and the Medical and Dental providers.
